There was a time when many webmasters used to enjoy the advertising power of mini sites in generating huge traffic for their sites.
It was a simple strategy that worked like magic. All one needed to do was to register several domain names based on important, popular keyword phrases that had the potential to attract relevant traffic to their main site. They would then include links in all their “mini sites” pointing to the main website. Not only did this strategy bring plenty of direct traffic but it also had a major SEO impact on the main site with all the one way back links pointing to it that just drove it right to the top of search engine results. Now that is what really opened the floodgates of traffic.
These days search engines frown on the use of mini sites. But the good news is that there is a strategy very similar to the mini sites one (in fact with more advantages), which search engines love that you can start using today. It is much more effective than mini sites ever were and yet you do not need to go into the trouble of registering dozens of domain names.
This very effective web advertising technique involves the use of articles posted at high traffic article directories. To be effective you must handle and treat this articles as mini sites on their own.
If you choose an article directory that has a high traffic and a good Google Page Rank (or PR) then what will happen is that your articles will get a lot higher traffic than any website you register on the side. And with links within the article and the resource box pointing to your site, a large percentage of the traffic your “mini sites” will end up at your web site or blog site.
